Mid-Continental Research Associates, Inc. (MCRA)
is a corporation owned and operated by the husband-wife team of
Robert H. Lafferty III and Kathleen M. Hess. This small, woman-owned
business was founded in July 1983. The companys offices are
located in the Ozark Mountains in northwest Arkansas. MCRA has carried
out archeological and historic research projects in Arkansas, Missouri,
Oklahoma, Tennessee, Illinois, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
Experienced cultural resource management experts staff MCRA. Our
principals and core staff have over 100 years of combined experience
in cultural resource studies. We have enabled our clients to comply
with historic preservation laws, such as Section 106 of the National
Historic Preservation Act and the National Environmental Protection
Act and regulatory requirements, such as Corps of Engineers Section
404 permits.
MCRA understands that timeliness is next to godliness.
Our principal corporate goal in the execution of projects is to
provide our sponsor with technically excellent and defensible information,
within the budget, and in a timely manner. We realize that only
by completing our work on time and in a technically excellent manner
is it possible to keep the rest of the project on schedule.
